My Story
My journey to creating MY WHY started when I realized I had a passion for oral health which led me to pursue a career in dental hygiene. This, in turn, led to a deep personal connection to the issue of oral health and a desire to help underserved communities. I’ve seen firsthand how limited access to quality dental care and education can create long-lasting problems. Oral health is often overlooked, yet it’s a critical part of overall well-being. I realized that many underserved populations face major barriers: whether it’s lack of access to affordable care, limited knowledge about oral hygiene, or socioeconomic factors that contribute to poor health outcomes.
It became clear to me that we weren’t just dealing with a matter of teeth; we were facing a systemic issue that affected people's health, confidence, and even economic opportunities. I knew I wanted to do something about it, not just by treating issues, but by preventing them through education and community engagement.
That’s why I created MY WHY. My mission is simple: to improve oral health in underserved communities by empowering people with the education and resources they need to take control of their health. I believe that by focusing on prevention and providing people with the knowledge to make informed decisions, we can create real, lasting change.
Through community outreach, partnerships with local organizations, and hands on educational programs, I aim to break down barriers to eliminate obstacles to achieving optimal oral health. My passion for this cause drives me every day, and it’s incredibly fulfilling to know that I’m working toward a future where everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, has the opportunity to live and thrive with better oral health!
